What are Resources?
In the CleverCards API, resources are the digital representations of real-world payment objects and concepts. When you make API calls, you're essentially creating, reading, updating, or deleting these resources. Understanding these key resources is essential for effectively integrating with our platform.
Core Resources Available
Our API provides access to several core resources that enable you to build comprehensive payment solutions:
Cards
Digital payment instruments that allow cardholders to access and spend funds. These are digital-first Mastercards with properties like card number, expiry date, CVV, and cardholder name. Cards can be tokenized for mobile wallet use (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay).
Card Accounts
Limited-purpose accounts that serve as the store of value for prepaid cards or limits for debit-type cards. These come in different varieties:
- Prepaid Single-Load accounts
- Prepaid Reloadable accounts
- Debit Card accounts
Card Tokens
Digital tokens that represent value which can be redeemed to fund a Card Account. These are flexible bearer instruments that can power use cases that require instant distribution to anywhere in the world, such as P2P payments, instant employee rewards, and customer payouts.
Cardholder
A Cardholder is the owner of a Card Account of General-purpose accounts for individuals that can contain multiple Card Accounts and Cards. These undergo KYC/CDD procedures and can hold balances in multiple currencies.
Company Accounts
General-purpose accounts for business customer that manage relationships with Customer Accounts, either for employees (spend management) or customers (rewards, incentives).
