The CleverCards Platform bridges the gap between traditional banking infrastructure and modern digital payment needs, offering businesses the tools to deliver innovative financial solutions with enhanced security and control.
About the API
The CleverCards API provides a secure and streamlined platform for issuing, funding, and managing digital prepaid Mastercards within your application or platform. This API enables organizations to create and distribute digital cards at scale, automate funding processes, and maintain full visibility and control over card activity.
Whether you're building a custom integration for employee rewards, customer incentives, or real-time disbursements, the CleverCards API offers the tools and flexibility to support your use case.
Core Concepts
To understand how the API works, it's helpful to first grasp the key building blocks of the CleverCards ecosystem:
-
Card Token Drafts: Configurable placeholders that define how a value will be delivered—specifying amount, recipient, and usage conditions. These drafts are later finalized to create card tokens.
-
Card Tokens: Unique representations of value that can be issued and redeemed. Tokens are typically sent to recipients and can be claimed via CleverCards to activate a digital card.
-
Card Accounts: Financial accounts that hold either a prepaid balance or a spending limit. These accounts are associated with digital cards and track available funds.
-
Company Accounts: Top-level accounts representing your organization. Company accounts provide funding sources, reporting, and administrative controls across all associated card programs.
-
Cards: Digital prepaid Mastercards that can be used for online and in-store purchases through wallets like Apple Pay or Google Pay. Cards are provisioned from card accounts and can be tailored to specific spending rules.
This documentation portal will guide you through authentication, draft creation, token issuance, funding workflows, and card management—all designed with security, compliance, and scalability in mind.
Let’s get started.
